Soybeans Price OutlookThe price of soybeans tumbled in recent weeks and traded at USD 894 cents per bushel on 14 February, which was down 5.1% from the same day last month. Moreover, the price was 5.2% lower on a year-to-date basis and it was down 1.1% from the same day last year. On 11 February, the USDA projected that the global stockpile of soybeans will end this season at a higher level than previously expected, primarily due to higher-than-expected supply in Brazil. The forecast change was also partly due to an upward revision in Chinese demand, despite the coronavirus outbreak, likely taking into account the 6 February announcement by the Chinese government to lower its U.S. soybean import tariff to 27.5% from 30.0%.
