Steel (Europe) Price OutlookEuropean steel prices remained inched up in recent weeks. That said, although prices were supported by signs of improving industrial sector metrics in the Eurozone, the recent coronavirus outbreak weighed on global steel prices amid fears of softening demand ahead. Hot-rolled coil European steel traded at USD 491 per metric ton on 14 February, which was 2.9% higher than on the same day last month. Moreover, the price was up 7.2% on a year-to-date basis but was 12.5% lower than on the same day last year.
