Gasoline Price OutlookGasoline prices inched higher over the last month, as fears of U.S.-based inventory drawdowns affected market sentiment. On 14 February, reformulated blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) gasoline traded at USD 1.94 per gallon, which was 2.1% higher than on the same day last month. Moreover, the price was up 12.1% on a year-to-date basis and was 6.0% higher than on the same day last year. Prices ticked up over the last month on the back of U.S. supply concerns amid unplanned refinery outages. On top of that, fears over the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on crude oil prices subsided somewhat in mid-February, allowing prices to recover some lost ground. In contrast, fading risks of a full-scale conflict between the U.S. and Iran boded well for supply, counterbalancing price pressures.
